MSc’s expertise in power conversion enables us to design systems for the hydrogen ecosystem. The production of hydrogen in the electrolysis process requires a large amount of electrical power ideally from renewable energy sources. The electricity from the fuel cells has to be converted into a suitable form for each application. MSc converters offer an excellent solution for both needs.

Power supply for electrolysis
MSc offers a modular rectifier solution for electrolysis DC power supply. The solution is easy to maintain and service and provides redundancy for hydrogen production. Very low ripple values can be reached. The system can easily be scaled from kW level to hundreds of MW. The system can be used with PEM, alkaline, and SOEC electrolyzers and can be either water- or air cooled.
MSc rectifier system can be delivered as a complete containerized solution including the MV/LV transformer or as components for system integrators.
MSc is introducing a high-performance DC supply for electrolysis
MSc’s liquid cooled 100 kW rectifier is part of a 1 MW subsystem consisting of rectifiers, breakers, busbars, fuses and a cooling system. The subsystems can be installed in parallel containers to produce up to hundreds of MW.
The concept has been optimized and concept tested for commercial launch. The tests have verified that MSc’s rectifier has the highest power density on the market.
MSc’s modular solution brings you the following advantages:
- Fulfills all grid codes
- Redundancy → high reliability and availability
- Easy maintenance
- Easy scalability
- Small footprint per MW
- High efficiency
- Latest SiC technology available
- Small voltage ripple
