Kelda Kraft and MSc Electronics to create smart and modular Energy Storage Systems to Nordic markets
24.11.2025
We are excited to announce a new partnership between Kelda Kraft AS, a subsidiary of Tinfos AS, and MSc Electronics Oy from Finland. Together, we are bringing next generation, smart, and modular Energy Storage Systems to the Norwegian and Nordic markets.

Together, we will develop energy storage system integrations. The focus will be on hydropower, with applications such as enabling grid balancing services, island mode operations, reduced wear and tear, optimized plant efficiency, and better fleet resource utilization—while also supporting broader grid applications such as battery-supercapacitor hybrid systems, and energy storage solution integration with other production technologies such as wind and solar.
The research collaboration is already well underway. A supercapacitor test rig developed and constructed by MSc is now being installed at Kelda Kraft's lab in Porsgrunn, Norway, for testing energy storage system and hydropower integrations.
This partnership brings together Kelda Kraft’s deep understanding of Norwegian hydro power plants, markets and digital control and optimization systems with MSc Electronics' expertise in advanced power electronics, hardware control, and supercapacitors.
Together, we're delivering efficient, scalable solutions that meet the evolving needs of the Nordic energy sector.
Stay tuned for more updates!
